Emin Çakmak, President of the World Health Tourism Council, who came to our island to sign the participation agreement of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council to the World Health Tourism Council, met with THY Cyprus General Manager Ömer Uzun and Ahmet Savaşan, Founding President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, for the transportation of patients to Northern Cyprus under special conditions.
CAKMAK “THY IS VITAL FOR THE ISLAND”
Stating that Turkish Airlines (THY) is the global partner of the World Health Tourism Council, Emin Çakmak emphasized that the expansion of the opportunities provided by Turkish Airlines to patients coming to Turkey to the TRNC is of vital importance for the development of Health Tourism on the island.
“THY connects Cyprus to the world in health tourism. Applying the same conditions in Turkey to the TRNC will bring an important flow to the island.”.
SAVAŞAN: “THY SHOULD EXTEND ITS PRACTICES IN TURKEY TO KKTC”
Ahmet Savaşan stated that Health Tourism in Northern Cyprus can gain momentum and the desired added value can be achieved in the country if the tax discounts given to health tourism in Turkey, financial support for overseas promotion, the structure of the Ministry of Health supporting the sector, and the discounts applied by THY to patients coming to Turkey are also available in TRNC.
Savaşan said, “I call on Turkish Airlines, which is a source of pride for us as well as Turkey, to expand its applications in Turkey to the TRNC. This expansion will be a great contribution and motivation for the development of Health Tourism.”.

Stating that THY has always supported the development of Northern Cyprus Tourism, Ömer Uzun said that certain discounts are applied to patients coming to Turkey to receive health services and that they will work to extend this practice to the TRNC.
